Maclin gained 57 yards on four receptions (seven targets) and lost five yards on two carries in Thursday's 31-24 loss to the Broncos.
EDGE Analysis
Maclin picked up 30 yards on a rare Alex Smith deep pass in the third quarter, but he was otherwise held in check. It was a decent showing given the circumstances, as the Chiefs only attempted 25 passes, and Maclin faced arguably the best cornerback duo in the league. Maclin led the team in targets for a second straight week, beating out Travis Kelce (five) and Jamaal Charles (five). Although his production's been disappointing thus far, Maclin is clearly a huge part of the Kansas City offense, and a Week 3 game in Green Bay provides his best matchup to date.

About to drop this bum

Don't be too quick to jump ship. He will have some nice games for Reid this year. They let up on the Texans week 1 to prepare for the short week against Denver. The Broncos will be shutting down lots of good WRs this year. Mac may be inconsistent as a #1 WR, but he will be a good #2. He will be a top flight #3 or flex . In no way is he a cut at this point. Who can you add that is better?

Give credit to a solid Denver D. The pass rush limited the passing attack of the Chiefs. Add in the hurried throws by Smith, 2 INTs and 2 fumbles that cost Mac some chances. None of that makes the WR a bum?
