Locker, who suffered a bruised thumb in Sunday's loss to the Browns, is dealing with a lot of swelling at this time, NFL.com reports.
The report suggests that there appears to be no structural damage in Locker's thumb, but his status for Sunday's game against the Jaguars is nonetheless cloudy. If Locker is unable to play this weekend, Charlie Whitehurst would likely be in line to start at QB for the Titans on Sunday, though in such a scenario, we suppose that the team could also entertain the notion of seeing what they have in rookie Zach Mettenberger.
Welp. As someone that got RG3 and got Locker as a serviceable backup, this season has been rough. Praying he gets better quickly, as he has a couple good matchups coming up, especially with Jacksonville this weekend. Sadly, my fantasy fate this week hinges on Jake Lockers right thumb. Jesus.
Um - Cousins w/b an upgrade at that point . . . heck Bridgewater or Alex Smith or Glennon . . . If Locker is gtg though - you gotta like the jax match-up as the Titans don't really run the ball for crap . .
Cousins got claimed right after RG3 went down unfortunately. I actually do have Bridgewater and Carr - they are both on my development squad. If I leave them there, I get to keep them for free for next season. My team is actually doing ok so far though.. I'm 3-2 and tied for the division lead. I was really hoping I could squeak by with Locker, because as you say he has such a great matchup with the Jags this weekend and his next couple games aren't bad either. But, if he can't play this week, its probably time to blow the free keeper status on Bridgewater and pull him up.
What makes it worse is the rumors about RG3 possibly being ready by like week 8. I want to believe them, but at the same time the Skins are 1-4 now and they don't have a reason to rush him back with the Giants, Cowboys, and Eagles all clearly better teams at this point. It sucks, but it may be for the best if Locker doesn't start this week so I can just go ahead and call up Teddy and hitch my wagon to someone (hopefully) more stable
