Freeman (ankle) was a limited practice participant Thursday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Freeman's activity level was forecast after he took part in individual drills, per Dan Duggan of The Athletic. It remains to be seen if Freeman will be able to get all the way back in time for Sunday's game at Washington, but if he doesn't the Giants will lean on Wayne Gallman, Dion Lewis and practice squad member Alfred Morris out of the backfield.
