Coach Vic Fangio said Tuesday that Purcell (thumb) probably won't play against Washington on Sunday, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports.

Fangio said Saturday that Purcell could likely miss a couple weeks with the thumb injury, so it's no surprise to see him doubtful for Week 8. The 30-year-old defensive tackle has appeared in all seven games for the Broncos this season and has totaled 19 tackles. If he doesn't play Sunday, DeShawn Williams and Shamar Stephen will likely be in line for increased snaps against Washington.
