Langford rushed 18 times for 72 yards and a touchdown, and caught three passes (on four targets) for 70 yards in Monday night's win over the Chargers.
EDGE Analysis
Langford was stellar in teammate Matt Forte's (knee) absence Monday night, proving to be a similarly dangerous dual-threat tailback for the Bears. Not only did Langford average four yards per carry and score off a goal-line touch in the fourth quarter, but the rookie also finished second on Chicago in receiving yards. After such an impressive performance in his Monday night debut, Langford may allow the Bears to rest Forte an extra week, but even if Forte plays this Sunday against the Rams, Langford has seemingly earned himself a useful workload going forward.

Jeremy Langford rushed 18 times for 72 yards and one touchdown and caught 3-of-4 targets for 70 yards in the Bears' Week 9 win over the Chargers on Monday night.

Langford was expected to start in place of Matt Forte (knee), but ESPN's Lisa Salters dropped a bomb on the fantasy community minutes before kickoff, announcing Ka'Deem Carey was getting the start. Carey handled three of the Bears' first four carries, but Langford was the man from the second series on, out-touching Carey 21-7. Langford looked every bit as advertised coming out of Michigan State as a polished runner with solid chops in the run game, as a pass catcher, and in blitz pickup. He picked up consistent chunk gains, scored a one-yard touchdown, two-point conversion, and made a diving laid-out 31-yard catch. If Forte misses Week 10 against the Rams, as most expect, Langford will again be in line for 20-plus touches. Unfortunately, it'll be a brutal matchup on the road, making him a low-end RB2. Thanks Roberto!!

Yes, and thanks to Jeremy Langford for being a stud.

Matt Forte who???

mistergnaas Tue 11/10/15 2:44 PM

da Bears should shelve Forte until 2016.

JagSwag Tue 11/10/15 3:25 PM

he'll be somewhere else next year anyways....contract year...langford will be the lead back next year

TunaInWater Tue 11/10/15 11:51 PM

They should have traded him weeks ago when they had the chance now they will share the carries and we wont get the big workload we love from our fantasy rb

He looked good, but it was against the porous Chargers' run D, in a film-less game defensively. He and K.C and Antone can hold down the fort for the time being, but to hold down the Forte? (lel)

Forte has been 33% of the Bears' ENTIRE offense for the last 3 years for a reason.

Langford was awesome for me last week but I'm really worried about the matchup this week. Langford, West, or Starks at flex? I have Lamar Miller & D'Angelo Williams as my starters. Leaning toward Starks as the best matchup.

Is Forte going to start?

jjoyave1 Fri 11/13/15 8:55 AM

No. Chitown, I'd go Starks who's been named the clear #1 against the Detroit Dumpster Fires. West is about to meet Denver for the first time as a starter.

Chitown021 Fri 11/13/15 10:01 AM

Yeah that's the way I'm thinking of going. West & Langford have been good so far but both have tough road games. I'm also hearing Alshon is banged up (again!) so that might make the Rams focus on the run even more to force the Bears to pass under pressure.

Langford ran well against a really, really bad defense full of 2nd and 3rd position players. He's going to lead the RBBC, but they all looked great that game.
