The Cowboys placed Ball (ankle) on injured reserve Thursday, Rob Phillips of the Cowboys' official website reports.

Ball missed all of the Cowboys' preseason games with the ankle injury. The 2021 fourth-round pick will be eligible to return from IR and make his NFL debut during Week 4 of the regular season.
