Washington signed Burgess off of their practice squad to the active roster Tuesday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.

Burgess was unable to make the team's 53-man roster out of training camp, but he was able to stick around on their practice squad. With the Commanders dealing with multiple injuries in their secondary, the 2020 third-round selection will help bolster the team's depth there.
