John McClain of the Houston Chronicle is adamant that the Texans will not enter the bidding for free agent Peyton Manning. McClain insists the Texans are "happy with (Matt) Schaub," and that Houston fans can "forget about" the team making any kind of play for Manning. Schaub is entering a contract year and coming off a Lisfranc fracture, but his recovery is right on schedule, if not ahead. The Texans may look into extending Schaub's contract in the coming weeks. The last thing they want to do is give off the impression that they'd be open to moving on.
