James has agreed to contract terms with the Buccaneers, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

James will join the Buccaneers from the Lions practice squad. With Doug Martin (hamstring), Charles Sims (knee) and Jacquizz Rodgers (foot) all injured, James' signing comes with Tampa Bay's backfield scrambling for options ahead of Thursday's game against Atlanta. All 19 of James' career games played have come for the Bucs, for whom he posted 332 rushing yards on 79 carries across the 2013 and 2014 seasons.
