Jackson visited with the Patriots last week and previously played under offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels while both were with the Rams. Given that familiarity, as well as New England's season-ending injuries to running backs Dion Lewis (knee) and LeGarrette Blount (hip), adding an accomplished tailback like Jackson certainly makes sense. At 32 years old, Jackson's best days are behind him, but his veteran presence should help bolster the Patriots' running back group of James White, Brandon Bolden and Joey Iosefa moving forward.
