Hester (toe) was released by the Falcons on Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Caplan reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hester dealt with a toe injury throughout most of the 2015 season, playing in just five games and eventually undergoing surgery in January. He didn't have a role in the Atlanta offense, strictly working as a return specialist when he was active, after catching 38 passes for 504 yards and two touchdowns in 2014. While arguably the best return man in NFL history, Hester could have trouble finding work, as he's 33 years old and may still be recovering from the surgery.
