Glennon is set to move into a backup role Sunday against the Eagles with the Giants set to give Jake Fromm his first NFL start, sources tell Adam Schefter of ESPN.
EDGE Analysis
Head coach Joe Judge wasn't willing to confirm the Giants' plans at quarterback following the team's final practice of the week Friday, but multiple reports heading into the weekend suggested the team would demote Glennon to the backup role after he went 0-3 while completing just 51 percent of his passes for 4.6 yards per attempt and a 2:5 TD:INT while starting in place of the injured Daniel Jones (neck). Though Jones has been ruled out for the season, the Giants have seemingly determined that the 32-year-old Glennon -- who is set to become a free agent this offseason -- isn't part of their future plans. The 23-year-old Fromm, on the other hand, offers more upside as a developmental option behind Jones heading into next season, even though he's unproven at the NFL level and has already been dropped by the organization (Buffalo) that drafted him in the fifth round in 2020.
