Gordon (suspension/quad) is drawing closer to his first practice of training camp, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. On Monday, head coach Hue Jackson noted Gordon will "hopefully [practice] soon."
EDGE Analysis
Jackson added that the wideout would admit he needs to shed some weight, which seems to indicate his conditioning, rather than a previously mentioned quad injury, is to blame for his continued absence from any drills. Once he's removed from the Non-Football Injury list, he'll have an opportunity to build up his rapport with starting quarterback Robert Griffin. However, they pair won't be able to hook up in any meaningful action until Week 5 due to Gordon's upcoming four-game suspension.
