Gordon didn't take the field Saturday against the Rams due to an abdominal concern, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. The injury that kept Gordon out of practice earlier in camp continues to rear its ugly head. While he awaits word on his appeal of a full season ban due to a second failed drug test, he isn't exactly pulling his weight on the field, and the blame seems to be placed upon his abdomen. In any case, he's a high-risk, high-reward selection in fantasy when healthy and active, which hasn't been the case too often since training camp opened.

This is going to be one hell of a decision - they are making it sound like he's either going to avoid a suspension completely, or get stuck with the full 16-gamer. And I am having a tough time seeing EITHER scenario play out, honestly. Him getting off scot-free seems really unlikely, but kicking him out of football for a year would just be such bad PR for the league, and it would take away one of the top 5 most exciting guys in the game right now. Should be very interesting.

well my draft is tomorrow bro... wtf should i do ?

BaseNote Sun 8/24/14 3:05 AM

Grab him late. I drafted him in the 15th round earlier today, as a WR5 (Demaryius, Fitzgerald, Cordarelle, Rueben Randle, him and Mike Evans). There is an excellent chance you will get zero games out of him. But what if you get 16?! That would be insane value at the end of the draft. He instantly becomes a top-5 WR again. Smart players grab him at the end of the draft, in my opinion.

My guess is they are delaying the decision as long as they can in hopes that the bad publicity from the Ray Rice suspension blows over and a year long suspension doesn't sound as bad for the NFL at that point.

I don't believe there is a long enough delay that will wash the bad taste out of our mouths from the Ray Rice incident. Not matter how long the wait, we will all compare the Josh Gordon decision to the Ray Rice case. Just get it over with already!

Amen to that. Don't really care either way, but the last of my 30 drafts are this weekend and it would have been nice to know beforehand.

I used a 11th round pick on this guy. Low risk high reward if he gets to play. He's pretty much a draft and stash player for later in the season.

He's the perfect lottery ticket, exactly Mixed. Really a once in a fantasy lifetime opportunity, from a risk/reward standpoint.

Well, you can't draft and stash him for later in the season, but you can draft and IR him for next year, so he is worth a late round pick. Then you can replace him with somebody actually going to play and hope for the best next year...that is, if he doesn't screw up again before that. And that's a big IF.

Heres a ?, if he's suspended, then why did the take the tag of him and why did they put him back on top as the #1 wide, rice still has his suspended tag on his name,

BaseNote Sun 8/24/14 11:10 PM

Gordon's #1 is his overall finish in your scoring format based on 2013 stats; he isn't ranked #1 currently.
