Rodgers signed his one-year, $13.65 million contract with the Steelers on Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The deal between Pittsburgh and the veteran quarterback came together late in the week and is now official. Per Schefter, Rodgers' contract includes $10 million in guaranteed money and has a maximum value of $19.5 million. It's a significant step down from what he could have made with the Jets, as Rodgers was slated to earn $37.5 million had he remained in New York.

Looks like he wanted out of New York pretty badly to take an $18 million cut.

Jets are better off without him and will be happier with Fields. Seelers will regret this offseason...they had two better QBs last year

joegibbskins07 Sat 6/7/25 7:06 PM

I will draft Rodgers over either of those two.

Gerry56 Sat 6/7/25 8:02 PM

Ya...I'd probably go Fields, hold my nose for Rogdgers, and pass on Wilson

Steelpens79 Sat 6/7/25 8:19 PM

I dont think he had a choice, I believe the Jets either cut him or told him he wouldn't be resigned.

As much as I do not like AR I think he is better than Fields. Had Wilson but am not going to keep him.

ROMULUS Sat 6/7/25 9:36 PM

rogers will never b on any team of mine, wilson is finished, kirk cousin is dead in the water, d. watson is retired... i would take a shot at fields... hes not bad, he has garret wilson at WR (the reason rogers is gone- he ticked off the offensive rookie of the year by not throwing him the ball, the anti-vax stuff in NYC didnt hurt him), a decent running game and the O-Line keeps getting better... the new rookie TE may also b good.... he might make a decent bye week QB as a gamble....

AR can still flick the ball, the issue is his declining mobility but still more mobile than Cousins/Flacco, so protection is key for the longer developing plays down the field, Aaron is one of the best qbs to ever do it he knows how put the team on the scoreboard. Aside from his amaing 11-12 Sb run he has choked in the playoffs even in his best seasons bc he sticks to his WR1 too much and doesn't give other receivers a chance to make a play. Anyway I think hell do a great job and he has the grit to fit Steelers football. I say 36+ pass TD 5 on the ground culminating to a 12-5 record, barring injury of course...

ROMULUS Sat 6/7/25 9:46 PM

oh yea.... like the steelers havent had enough drama in the last decade.... from WR a. brown and his RB who i forget... to the picket to pickens debacle... they passed on QB s. sanders, yet signed a. rogers? rogers is an over the hill pre-madonna... of course im a cowboys fan who lost 2 him twice in the playoffs.... but really... RFK jrs VP candidate in NYC? thats just not knowing yer surroundings... if he was in TX, thats ok.... but NYC? hes an idiot...pittsburg huh? that should b fun....

FantasyMike Sun 6/8/25 4:58 AM

They and every other team passed on Sanders because he simply blows.

Not sure why people/media ride his coat tails... oh that's right.. namesake

Not a single thing he show cased .. whether it individual. Stats... raw physical ability (which is on par with a Kirk Cousins)

Noodle arm .. on par with most baxk-ups

And a clear as day "I'm better than everyone" mentality

Dumpster fire waiting to ignite

Another year of his BS. He completely lost touch with reality and his on field performance was mediocre at best. He will not be on any of my nonSF teams, and I will need to be in serious trouble in SF to touch him with a 10 feet pole. I already made my bet on the Steelers having a negative record for the first time since forever. I trust in AR, he will deliver.😂

muddog1 Sun 6/8/25 10:42 AM

I see AR as a minor upgrade over Wilson, mainly because of how he handles the pass rush

joegibbskins07 Sun 6/8/25 12:11 PM

Smarter than Wilson too. He lacks mobility now but he still did decent in the NYJ circus. Tomlin is the best getting the most of out less too.

johnwhichello Mon 6/9/25 10:15 AM

For Pitt's sake I hope they do not fall for the I need AL from Rodgers. NYJ did and they paid through the nose for him and it cost them a lot.

The Steelers OC loves ground and pound. Rodgers won't be passing 40+ times a game. Their RBs will be getting a workout. With their defense, they're going to have a good season, as long as they don't turn the ball over.
