FOX's Jay Glazer reports that the Bucs requested benched QB Josh Freeman to not attend a team meeting Tuesday.
Even more interestingly, Glazer reports some of Freeman's teammates "started thinking it was to get others to think he blew it off." Both the media and Freeman's teammates are seeing right through Tampa's thinly-veiled smear campaign against its former quarterback. Coach Greg Schiano appears to think he's still coaching in the Big East, and not the AFC South. Schiano's agent may want to start sending out back-channel feelers to college athletic directors.
i agree, freeman has certainly made mistakes on and off the field, but the manner in which schiano and the bucs are handling the situation is very disappointing. don't expect to see conduct such as this in the NFL.
agreed with DL. pretty childish, career ruining move by people who's own career is being tarnished by doing this. Freeman is not perfect by any means but he is talented and capable with the right coach. they have a great WR core and a RB, now they are going to toss in a NooB QB and call him better? other teammates have been passive aggressive in the media toward the coach for months now. on the outside looking in, that coach has lost his locker room.
someone brought up the jets. it looks like that coach has reclaimed the locker room. the front office is still a joke but the team is playing hard with what they have and that's not much. they received their fair share of criticism when they deserved it so I don't see what they have to do with Tampa.
Thats what I was saying mr. gibbs, rex has gotten his team back and now the jets are playing hard for him, the bucs are the jets from last year with all the drama.

Schiano is running them into the ground and it is sad cause they are a team with so much talent and he is just being childish!

Bucs, do yourself a favor and fire Shiano now. This season is probably lost, but they might as well start the healing process now. My two cents.

Is it necessary to ruin a young man's reputation??????

He is young and immature, he needs a role model, but Schiano and the Bucs organization are a joke, no one is mentioning the jets now.

yea. its very rare for me to give Rex Ryan any props so take note as I say the coach in Tampa is no Rex Ryan.
