Fleener caught two passes on two targets for 26 yards in Sunday's loss to the Broncos.
EDGE Analysis
Fleener played 32 of the Saints' 51 offensive snaps (63 percent), according to Josh Katzenstein of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, but had only minimal impact. He has not had more than 45 receiving yards in a game since Week 6 -- a stretch which has coincided with the return of tight end Josh Hill to the Saints' lineup. While Fleener remains the preferred receiving tight end, the Saints continue to split snaps between Hill (26 snaps in Week 10) and Fleener. Head coach Sean Payton likes to use his tight ends in the passing game, so it's reasonable to expect that the athletic Fleener will still have some big games in the second half, but inconsistency will likely continue to be an issue. The Saints next play on Thursday versus the Panthers, a team against which Fleener had six catches for 74 yards and a touchdown earlier this year.
