Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said he expects Ebron (hamstring) to return to action Sunday against the Lions, Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ebron was sidelined for a second straight game in Monday's 29-27 win over the Bears while he managed a hamstring injury. Though Tomlin told Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site that Ebron looked good during limited showings in practices Friday and Saturday, Pittsburgh ultimately erred on the side of caution by holding him out Monday. Though Ebron should be on track to play this weekend if his hamstring responds well to additional practice activity, he could find himself in a smaller role than he held prior to suffering the injury. Rookie Pat Freiermuth has emerged as one of Ben Roethlisberger's favorite targets in the absence of Ebron the past two weeks, producing nine receptions for 87 yards and three receptions between those contests.
