ESPN Chicago reports that the Bears will put in a claim for Kyle Orton before Wednesday's 3PM ET waiver deadline. We suspected as much, but whether Orton will fall to the Bears' No. 30 position in the waiver process is another story. It is notable that the Bears are so interested in Orton they are willing to claim the hefty $2.58 million left on his salary for just six weeks of service. That will be no small obstacle for teams like the Colts and Chiefs, who are higher in the waiver order but have bleaker outlooks for the season. K.C is still going to be Chicago's biggest obstacle, as we see it. Despite a recent collapse, the Chiefs are only two games out of first in the AFC West, and it's no secret that coach Todd Haley's job is on the line.
