The Buccaneers placed Evans (hamstring) on injured reserve Wednesday, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Evans hasn't practiced in any capacity since strained his hamstring in a Week 14 win over Indianapolis, so it's not entirely surprising that the Buccaneers have elected to shut him down. Tampa Bay promoted wideout Spencer Schnell from the practice squad Wednesday, adding depth to a position group that will also be missing Scott Miller (hamstring) for the rest of the season, and potentially Chris Godwin (hamstring), too. Evans concludes his sixth NFL season with 67 receptions for 1,157 yards and eight touchdowns over 13 games.
