Hansen (groin) was designated to return from injured reserve by the Saints on Thursday, John DeShazier of the Saints' official site reports.

The team now has 21 days to either activate or return the 28-year-old to the IR. Hansen has yet to play in a game this season, but could play very soon. If activated, he'll slot in as the Saints' second option at middle linebacker behind starter Demario Davis.
