Mitchell was released from the Cowboys' practice squad Monday, Nick Eatman of the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mitchell spent much of the season on the practice squad injured list before being restored to the practice squad in mid-November. The 24-year-old is still looking to make his NFL debut.
