Despite the Vikings' lack of depth at corner, they decided to cut Fields and add linebacker Devante Downs. It's interesting that Fields was waived and not waived/injured, as he tended to a groin injury in practice this week. If he clears waivers, he'll be free to sign elsewhere right away.
