Cumberland (torn achilles) announced Saturday that he will miss the entire 2016 campaign, Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Cumberland suffered what appeared to be a very serious leg injury during Friday's preseason contest with the Cardinals. With the fate of his health now known, Antonio Gates and Hunter Henry surface as the only legitimate receiving threats at tight end for the Chargers. While Gates is likely to consume most of Philip Rivers' targets, Henry has been an impressive weapon and could be of some service this season.
