Bateman (groin) may make his pro debut Monday against the Colts, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. "I think both those guys have a chance of playing this week," coach John Harbaugh said Monday of Bateman and Miles Boykin (hamstring).
EDGE Analysis
Both recent Ravens draftees have yet to play this season, but of the two Bateman's return is the most anticipated for obvious reasons. The first-round rookie has been sidelined since injuring his groin Aug. 10, which forced him to have surgery that was accompanied by a 6-to-8-week recovery timetable. Bateman was placed on injured reserve after roster cuts before the team designated him to return last Wednesday, but ultimately he wasn't able to get enough practice reps last week to be cleared to play this past Sunday in Denver. Assuming he makes the requisite progress this week, he'll be activated ahead of Monday's game.
