Charles (knees) remains on track to be back on the field for the start of training camp, the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Until then, ESPN's Jeff Legwold relays that the veteran running back won't participate in team drills during the Broncos' offseason program, as he rebounds from last season's knee woes. The expectation is that Charles will enter the team drill fray at some point during training camp, at which time he'll ease into the team's backfield mix. How Charles looks at that stage of the summer will go a long way toward deciding what his workload this coming season might be, but he's presumably not being counted on to seize a high-volume role, at least immediately, with C.J. Anderson, Devontae Booker and rookie De'Angelo Henderson also on hand.
