Celek caught three passes for 15 yards against Jacksonville in Week 1. Celek reeled in those three passes on four targets. While his value as a blocker and quiet adeptness as an all-around tight end might keep Celek technically atop the depth chart at tight end, Zach Ertz predictably played the lead role as the pass-catching tight end Sunday, totaling 77 yards and a touchdown on three receptions. Ertz's target count of five seems low for a player of his talent level, so it's possible that his target rate will increase going forward, and that would be at least partially at the expense of Celek's target count. Celek might struggle to match last year's totals of 502 yards and six touchdowns.
