Brian Urlacher went to Europe in May or June to seek an alternative treatment on his knee. The Bears and Urlacher won't confirm it, but he almost certainly had the "Kobe surgery." Performed by German-based Dr. Peter Wehling, the non-invasive procedure involves taking blood from an athlete, spinning it and then injecting the protein-rich serum back into a troublesome knee. It worked wonders for Kobe Bryant last season and has also been used by Alex Rodriguez, Grant Hill, Vijay Singh and others. Urlacher still appears on target to be ready for Week 1.
