Brady completed 14 of 26 passes for 133 yards with one touchdown and one interception during Sunday's 26-10 loss to the Lions. He added two rushing yards on one carry.
EDGE Analysis
Brady was off the mark most of the night, as reflected in his lowly 53.8 completion percentage, and his trouble keeping drives alive ultimately led the Patriots to be almost doubled by Detroit in time of possession, 39 minutes to 21. One of the quarterback's biggest problems was being protected by an offensive line that got dominated by a toothless Lions pass rush that was missing both of its starting defensive ends. The other glaring issue was Brady's lack of playmakers outside of tight end Rob Gronkowski -- especially after Rex Burkhead (neck) exited the game in the third quarter. While this latter issue could be rectified sooner than later once Julian Edelman (suspension) and Josh Gordon (coach's decision) are both fully in the fold, it's possible Brady's protection up front could be a concern all season long. Next up for New England is a Week 4 matchup with a Dolphins team that has allowed just 7.0 yards per attempt through the first three weeks of the season.

I thought it was strange how much they stuck with the run with Michel. I thought for sure any minute they were gonna come out spread offense with James White and go hurry up offense but they never did. Then in the 4th qu down by 2 scores with about 8 minutes left they ran the ball 2x and incomplete pass on 3rd. I realize they just dont have the receivers but that was just strange to see. Its almost like Bellichick ceded the game to Patricia at that point.

Steelpens, you took the words right out of my mouth. It was real strange to watch that sequence of events. In addition, it seemed there was no urgency to score quickly in order to have a chance to get the ball back. One of the strangest games I have seen from the Patriots. Don't get me wrong, enjoyed every minute of their loss, but it was certainly an out of character game. I bet they rebound next week unfortunately.

Might think about retirement now Brady.

I am a big Patriots fan but after this game I can not see them doing very much going forward. One of the worst games I have ever seen played by a Patriots team.

Made me feel like I was watching a all girls team that had no clue as to how football is played.....awful......just awful

I agree the Patriots have got off to a slow start the past couple of years... but the lions?

I is different this year. With BB letting so many players walk it is taking more of a toll on Brady then it has ever in the past.

If his team can not do their job it is gonna be a very long and bad year for the Patriots and Brady.

I'm not sure what's he's supposed to do with the tools he has on the field right now. Let's see how the season progresses before we come to any premature conclusions.

They might consider more cheating. That usually helps them.
