Ben Roethlisberger referred to the Steelers' running backs as "our three-headed monster."

These running backs by committee are losing their effect. No momentum, misuse of skillsets in random substitutions, and we've seen what "rest" can do to an NFL running back. Injuries and mistakes. Common sense used to dictate that you stick with whoever's most productive. Now coaches are hopping onto stupid novelty offenses because they're too scared to stick with what usually works. This guy had 147 yards against an extremely tough Giants run defense, and they're seriously going to consider trading handoffs between all three of their RBs? Stupid. Plain stupid.

Great observation...why can't Fleaflicker write something like this? Why would you consider anything other than running Redman as much as possible?

Maybe because Dwyer has a 5.2 YPC against Redmans 3.2 YPC ratio? Or maybe it is because Redman looked not good the whole year, with "just" one good game against the Giants?!

This isn't true. NFL teams are averaging more yards / carry than they ever have in the history of the league.

Not exactly where you got the idea they are going "running back by committee". The last three weeks the healthy back has started and produced. If dwyer hadn't gotten hurt then redman wouldn't have even played in this game other than 3rd downs because he can catch the ball better. And my guess is dwyer would have gotten even more yardage than redman did. This isnt a committee situation........ yet.

Couldn't agree more and I have Redman and Mendenhaal. So it's not like I'm just saying it because I'm sour grapes.
