Although the Buccaneers placed Jackson in the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, his injury hasn't been definitely confirmed as a torn ACL, Ed Werder of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jackson's ailment was first termed an ACL tear by Adam Caplan of ESPN, and Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times was able to whittle it down to the wideout's left knee. If the injury is in fact to Jackson's MCL rather than the ACL, as Werder discovered, he may be able to return at some point this season. The Buccaneers would then have a quandary on its hands with regard to which player between Jackson and Charles Sims (knee) to activate from IR later this season, as each team can bring back just one such player to the 53-man roster. On the other hand, confirmation of an ACL diagnosis would result in back-to-back abbreviated campaigns for Jackson.
