Peppers (ankle/knee) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday after suffering a ruptured ACL in his right knee, ending his season, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.

The 26-year-old suffered the knee injury in Sunday's victory over the Panthers and also sustained a right ankle sprain in the contest. With his season meeting an abrupt end, Peppers will finish 2021 with 30 tackles, a sack and a pass deflection in six games. Julian Love will take over and handle the bulk of the snaps at strong safety.
