According to an unsourced report from Dawg Pound Nation, a Browns blog, the hold up on Gordon's appeal is due to the arbitrator stalling to give the NFL time to come to a settlement with Gordon's legal team. Because Gordon's team is confident in its chances, it has reportedly refused to settle thus far, putting the NFL in a tough spot.
Keep in mind the report is unsourced, so it could be off base, but the theory makes sense. Because the arbitrator must make an all-or-nothing ruling, the NFL risks getting no suspension if it doesn't settle, and even a 16-team suspension is probably not optimal from a public relations standpoint given Ray Rice's two-game suspension for a much more serious offense. Moreover, even if Gordon loses, he might have grounds to sue the NFL in the state of Ohio to stop the enforcement of the suspension. In which case, it would make sense for the NFL to want to settle, Gordon's camp not to want to settle for more than a very short, if any, suspension and for the case to drag out. Accordingly we have Gordon projected for 11.5 games, though keep in mind until we have an identifiable source with access to specific information, this is very much speculation.
all this means nothing because Johnny Manziel will be starting QB and he cant throw over 20yards..and he will be laying on his back or running for his life 90% of the game
If you think about this it makes perfect sense. 11.5 games divided by Pi (3.14) equals the amount of lost games for weed related incidents. Factor in the fact that where I live it is 8:30am and around 65 degrees and you will see that Josh Gordan's best friend's name is in fact Greg.
Right, but you didn't account for the gravitational disturbance from Jupiter this month and have to realize that Gordan is a Sagitarius. Now, if you divide those factors by the mean solar second you get the relative number of acceptable games for Gordan to be suspended.
I think the late great scarecrow figured it out..."The sum of the square roots of two sides of an isosceles triangle is equal to the square root of the remaining side Oh joy! Rapture! Ive got a brain!"
My buddy Rich from work had a great point regarding this matter. Everyone seems to forget about the fact that the square root of 69 is 8 sumthin, right?
Ur right CCC, I really didn't think that comment through. Yes, I could have edited it, but that may have ended this thread, lol. I was to busy thinking about the reference to Drake, and not the fact that I started of with, My buddy Rich...". I should've wrote, "The receptionist at my work...". lol
people talk about how he passed 70 straight tests, but considering he got tested 10 times a month it's really not all that long. Pregnant women stay clean that long all the time.
If the NFL and Gordon's agents don't settle, he'll either be suspended for 16 games or none at all. But the writer is projecting he'll play 11-12 games (11.5 average estimate), meaning he thinks they'll settle a deal which will suspend him 4 games at most. That's best case scenario, DWI-related suspension notwithstanding
He won't settle for anything more than a 4 game suspension, as he would most likely win any appeal in the state of Ohio, under whose law the NFL must abide for this incident. He would not even have been considered chargeable under Ohio law. The NFL is trying to play big-dog tough on this one, but they basically don't have a leg to stand on, and Gordon's legal team knows it. The "best" that the NFL can hope for is a short enough suspension to draw Gordon in so that he can get on with this life.
Well, we don't know that, hence my comment. The year long ban is just for the weed. He still has to face the DWI. And if the "I" is in any way drug related, that might be it for Gordon.

I'm in agreement, but we HAVE to factor in the speed of light, and divide by the quatum forcefield limits.

Carry on or continue on??? That is the question. The answer relates back to Socrates' philosophies and hypotheses. Remember? From when we were kids.

16 team suspension??? 11.5 game projection? Who writes this crap?
CaryNeumannMon 8/25/14 1:09 AM
I agree, none of that makes sense! lol
SchmackMon 8/25/14 1:13 AM
The NFL really wants to send a message by suspending Josh Gordon from playing on 16 different teams.
clrkj123Mon 8/25/14 1:15 AM
What i think is funny, is that everyone forgets that he got a DWI last month that he has to be disciplined for after this suspension...

I think they mean 16 game suspension, but they think it'll go down to 11.5 games... oh wait that doesnt make sense either
CulverCityCosmoMon 8/25/14 1:59 AM
I haven't forgotten the DWI. I'm thinking that will be their out by not suspending him for 2nd hand smoke(lol) and giving him 4 games for the DWI.

Fantasy nightmare....had him in 3 keeper leagues cut him and redrafted him in all of them....
KillerRabbitMon 8/25/14 12:05 PM
PPR league I got Jeffery, White, Colston, and used my very last pick on a Gordon. I'm truly surprised he lasted that long
smellmineMon 8/25/14 12:08 PM
I have a draft on Sunday and I am going to take him early. I get to keep 3 in this league and Gordon could be a steal.

now if he only had a qb
