Abbrederis has climbed up the receiver ladder for the Packers over the last 12 months, going from the practice squad heading into Week 1 of 2015 to second string on the depth chart going into Week 1 this year. Fellow wideout Davante Adams is also listed as a second-string receiver, and it's not yet clear who will open as the third receiver behind starters Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb. Adams seems to be the favorite having started 12 games last year while Nelson was out, but Abbrederis has risen through the ranks thanks to his dependability, and could have one more ascent left in him.
