A source tells the Daily News that Matt Schaub is not interested in being Geno Smith's backup. Schaub is expected to be released by the Texans shortly. He likely fancies himself as a 2014 starter somewhere, so he doesn't want to put the word out that he'd be OK with backing up a turnover-prone second-year man like Smith. But once teams get through their evaluations, we suspect Schaub will lack for shots at starting gigs. Even a desperate team like the Raiders should aim higher.
