49ers rookie RB Marcus Lattimore (knee surgeries) acknowledged that he won't participate in training camp. In other words, he'll spend camp on the active/NFI list and likely stay there for the season's first six games. Lattimore did say he performed some sprints at OTAs. His goal is to "get a chance to practice midseason, and see what happens." If the 49ers like what they see from Lattimore at that point -- and if they need a back -- there's an outside chance he could be activated to the 53-man roster. We're still expecting a "redshirt" year for the fourth-round pick.
