Coach Jeff Fisher said the Rams "have left the door open" for free agent RG Harvey Dahl to return. Dahl, 33, was released in March in a cap move. He underwent ankle and hip surgeries following the season, with the hip rehab being the most extensive. It sounds like Dahl still may not be recovered. For now, the Rams are going with Rodger Saffold at right guard. Davin Joseph and Barrett Jones are the backups.

Despite releasing him on Monday, coach Jeff Fisher stated he's open to free agent RG Harvey Dahl rejoining the Rams. It's a testament to how needy St. Louis is on the O-Line. "We have expressed to Harvey that we have interest in bringing him back," Fisher said. Dahl is currently rehabbing from ankle surgery. "Harvey's gonna work very hard to get through his rehab," Fisher added. "And we agreed that when he was healthy, we would talk." Monday's release of Dahl saved $4 million in cap room.

Rams released RG Harvey Dahl. Dahl, 33 in June, was one of many free-agent offensive line flops signed by the Rams over the past several years. His release saves $4 million in cap space. St. Louis now appears to be eyeing Geoff Schwartz to upgrade at right guard. Dahl may draw interest as a reserve, assuming he plans to keep playing.

ESPN Rams reporter Nick Wagoner expects the team to release RG Harvey Dahl in the "very near future." St. Louis is currently dealing with arguably the worst offensive line situation in football, but Dahl is severely overpaid with $4 million in salary and bonuses going on age 33. By releasing Dahl, the Rams' salary cap room would increase to $15 million. They're on the verge of losing free agent G/T Rodger Saffold, LT Jake Long tore his ACL and MCL in Week 16, and C Scott Wells is another overpaid, injury-prone veteran in swift decline.

Rams RG Harvey Dahl will undergo ankle surgery "in the next few days." It's "just a cleanup procedure." Dahl turns 33 this June and is owed $4 million in combined salary and bonuses. He's a candidate for offseason release.

Rams RG Harvey Dahl (knee) is expected to miss several weeks. Dahl sprained his MCL during the third quarter of Monday night's loss to the Seahawks. Shelley Smith, who had been rotating at left guard with Chris Williams, will now step into a full-time role on the right side. Dahl is currently ProFootballFocus' No. 31 guard among 72 qualifiers.

Rams RG Harvey Dahl suffered an MCL injury in Monday's loss. According to coach Jeff Fisher, the severity of Dahl's injury is still unknown. A torn MCL could cost Dahl up to six weeks. The Rams will go with Shelley Smith in the interim. Dahl is the No. 30 guard in Pro Football Focus' ratings.

Rams RG Harvey Dahl (torn biceps) "could" be ready for St. Louis' offseason program. Dahl was given a three- to four-month timeline after going on injured reserve in December. Even if he's not ready for OTAs, he'll be 100 percent for training camp. Signed for a reasonable $4 million between salary and bonuses in 2013, Dahl will be back as the Rams' right guard.

Rams RG Harvey Dahl will miss the remainder of the season after his Monday MRI revealed a torn biceps. Dahl will be placed on season-ending injured reserve, and head coach Jeff Fisher said that either Shelley Smith or Chris Williams will start at right guard for the final two weeks. Pro Football Focus graded Dahl out as an above-average guard this season, and he is signed through 2014.

The Rams believe RG Harvey Dahl suffered a torn biceps in Sunday's Week 15 loss to the Vikings. The injury was initially described as being to Dahl's elbow. Regardless, he is lost for the season's remainder. We'll take a look at one of the younger guys up front at the guard spot," coach Jeff Fisher said. Look for Dahl to be placed on the injured reserve list early this week.
