Ward is listed as the Eagles' backup slot receiver behind starter Quez Watkins on the team's unofficial depth chart ahead of Sunday's Week 1 matchup with the Falcons.
EDGE Analysis
Though he led all Philadelphia pass catchers with 53 receptions and six touchdowns in 2020, Ward finds himself without a starting role heading into Week 1 after the second-year Watkins surpassed him on the depth chart on the heels of an impressive training camp and preseason. The Eagles may have Ward rotate in with Watkins and play in four-wide formations, but it's clear the 26-year-old won't be handling the 70-plus-percent snap shares he frequently took on in 2020.

As the most experienced receiver in camp, Ward is likely to make the roster, Jimmy Kempski of Philly Voice reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ward has been on the Eagles' active roster for just the past two seasons, but that is enough to make him their longest-tenured receiver, especially after you factor in his experience on the team's practice squad and training camps dating back to 2017. While his 53 catches on 79 targets led the club in 2020, the former college quarterback should take a backseat to DeVonta Smith and Jalen Reagor this season while working out of the slot. The 26-year-old can serve as a backup kick returner as well, adding to his chances of making the squad.

Ward signed his exclusive-rights tender with the Eagles on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Ward is now officially under contract with the Eagles, though there was never any doubt about that after the team extended him an ERFA tender in early March. He'll rejoin Philadelphia's receiving corps as a potential starter, in the mix alongside Travis Fulgham, John Hightower and Quez Watkins behind Jalen Reagor (head) as it currently stands.

The Eagles tendered Ward as an exclusive rights free agent Monday, Mike Kaye of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ward can thus only negotiate with the Eagles this offseason, which makes it seem very likely that he'll stay in Philadelphia. The 25-year-old was the only wideout to start all 16 games for the team in 2020, and he finished with the best statline of his career (53-419-6). Philadelphia has already parted ways with DeSean Jackson and are expected to release Alshon Jeffrey in the near future, making it conceivable that Ward sees similar opportunities in 2021. Of course, there's always the possibility of the Eagles adding substantial pass-catching competition this offseason.

Ward finished the 2020 season with 53 catches on 79 targets for 419 yards and six touchdowns.
EDGE Analysis
At the beginning of the year, Ward seemed buried on the depth chart and headed for limited playing time, but by the end of it, he would be the only pass catcher on the team who played in all 16 games. If the Houston product didn't find the end zone, he didn't do much else, however, as he topped 45 yards receiving just twice all season. The 25-year-old is now an exclusive rights free agent, meaning the Eagles will keep him in 2021 as long as they offer him a contract.

Ward caught two of his three targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 37-17 loss to the Cowboys.
EDGE Analysis
Ward has found the end zone three times over the last four weeks, but he has not produced much when held out of the end zone. The 25-year-old has topped 30 yards just once over the past six gamess while Quez Watkins has been more productive recently despite playing far fewer snaps.

Ward caught four of five targets for 15 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's 33-26 loss to the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Ward didn't generate much yardage with his receptions, but he wriggled free for a pair of red-zone scores to get his side back in the game in the second quarter. He generated just 20 yards on five targets in last week's win over the Saints, but his usage in the scoring area bodes well for his fantasy value, though he has the look of a rather touchdown-dependent option. Still, Ward has found the end zone six times this season and will look to add to his numbers in next Sunday's matchup with the Cowboys.

WR FA
Ward caught two of his five targets for 20 yards in Sunday's 24-21 win over New Orleans.
EDGE Analysis
Ward continues to see healthy target totals. He has at least three in all but one game this season, and at least five in all but four outings. The Houston product hasn't converted the opportunities into yardage, however, as he has topped 45 yards just twice all year.

Ward caught three of his five targets for 57 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 30-16 loss to Green Bay.
EDGE Analysis
Ward's fourth touchdown of the season and first over his last five games was the first of Jalen Hurts' career and came in the fourth quarter. The 32-yard bomb helped get the 25-year-old to his highest yardage total since Week 3. He'll be tough to count on Week 14 against the Saints.

Ward secured one of his three targets for three yards during Monday's 23-17 loss to Seattle.
EDGE Analysis
Philadelphia tight ends and backs accounted for 59.5 percent of the team's target share Monday night, while there was not a single Eagles wideout to break 16 receiving yards or tally a touchdown. The past three games with both Alshon Jeffery and Jalen Reagor active, Ward has managed just 17 receiving yards per contest with zero scores. Provided more ample opportunity Weeks 1 through 8, Ward accumulated 30.4 yards per game while chalking up three total touchdowns.
