Swaim caught all four of his targets for 17 yards in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs.
EDGE Analysis
James O'Shaughnessy received the start and served as the Jaguars' top tight end Sunday, catching four of five targets for 32 yards and playing 38 snaps to Swaim's 29. Both players are listed as starters since Jacksonville's depth chart features two tight ends, but O'Shaughnessy was the favorite for playing time and production Week 1. Swaim certainly has more upside between the two, but his season is off to a rocky start.

Swaim (foot) does not appear on the Jaguars' Week 1 injury report.
EDGE Analysis
Swaim -- who is listed as the team's starting tight end - hasn't generated much fantasy buzz heading into the 2019 season, but we suppose that the former Dallas Cowboy could move up the ranks in the coming weeks if he displays good chemistry with Jacksonville's new QB Nick Foles.

Swaim, who has been tending to a foot injury, is slated to practice Monday in a limited fashion, Phillip Heilman of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Swaim has missed the Jaguars' past two preseason contests due to the injury and probably won't be fully cleared in time for Thursday's exhibition finale versus the Falcons. However, his return to the practice field increases his odds of being ready to go for the Week 1 matchup with the Chiefs on Sept. 8. Heading into training camp, Swaim was the clear frontrunner for the starting job at tight end, but the competition may have gotten tighter in light of the time he's missed. After notching 26 receptions for 242 yards and a touchdown in nine games with Dallas in 2018, Swaim probably won't be much more than a tertiary option in the Jacksonville passing game even if he ends up dominating the snaps at his position.

Swaim (undisclosed) won't play in Thursday's preseason contest against the Dolphins, John Reid of The Florida Times-Union reports.
EDGE Analysis
Swaim is still managing the unspecified injury, which also kept him sidelined for last week's exhibition game versus Philadelphia. The 25-year-old projects to start at tight end for the Jaguars when healthy, though he could face pressure from rookie Josh Oliver (hamstring) down the road.

Swaim isn't expected to play in Thursday's preseason matchup with Philadelphia due to an undisclosed injury, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear how serious Swaim's injury is, although head coach Doug Marrone could just be exercising caution with the 25-year-old. With Josh Oliver sidelined due to a hamstring injury, Swaim figures to fill the starting tight end role in Jacksonville.

Swaim caught his only target for six yards in Thursday's preseason game against the Ravens.
EDGE Analysis
Swaim was one of the few starters to take the field for the Jaguars and played only 15 offensive snaps. The performance doesn't move the needle for the 25-year-old, who's locked in as the starter with Josh Oliver (hamstring) sidelined.

Swaim is the clear favorite to begin the season as the Jaguars' starting tight end, Phillip Heilman of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Swaim entered training camp with an edge for the starting job over rookie third-round pick Josh Oliver, but now that Oliver is sidelined with a hamstring injury Swaim should begin the season as the top option at the position. The 25-year-old played in only nine games with Dallas due to wrist surgery last season and posted a modest 26 receptions for 242 yards and one touchdown, which still eclipsed Jacksonville's most productive tight end. If Swaim can stay healthy, he should provide a sizable red-zone option for QB Nick Foles in an offense lacking elite pass catchers.

Swaim is facing competition from rookie third-round pick Josh Oliver, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official website reports.
EDGE Analysis
Swaim joined one of the weakest position groups in the league when he signed a two-year, $6.6 million deal in March. The contract still makes him a favorite for the Week 1 starting job, but his middling athleticism becomes all the more obvious next to Oliver, who tied Irv Smith Jr. for the third-fastest 40-yard dash (4.63 seconds) among tight ends at the 2019 combine. The Jaguars also have James O'Shaughnessy and Ben Koyack competing for snaps at tight end.

Swaim (wrist) is signing with the Jaguars, Dan Graziano of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coming off a season-ending wrist injury, Swaim couldn't have found a better location in terms of opportunity for playing time. The Jaguars figure to add more bodies in the coming weeks, but their current depth chart at tight end consists of nothing more than Swaim, Ben Koyack (hand) and Pharoah McKever -- a group that's combined for 59 career receptions and two touchdowns. Even with the favorable situation, Swaim hasn't displayed enough pass-catching potential to warrant consideration in standard fantasy formats.

Swaim (knee) produced 26 receptions, 242 receiving yards and one touchdown over nine games in 2018.
EDGE Analysis
Swaim fractured his wrist in a way that required surgery last November and he was ultimately planted on injured for the final six games of the season, a period in which second-year backup Blake Jarwin snagged 23 passes for 265 yards and three scores. While Swaim has since had the cast removed from his surgically-repaired arm and seems to be nearly full health, the four-year veteran will become an unrestricted free agent in March and may not be as big of a priority for Dallas to re-sign in free agency than Swaim was before Jarwin's emergence.
