Reid (ankle) was a limited participant Thursday's walkthrough practice, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Reid was previously held of out Wednesday's session, which has been his normal practice schedule since sustaining an ankle injury. If the veteran safety is able to participate in at least a limited capacity Friday, he should be considered on track to suit up Week 6. If Reid has suffered any sort of setback, however, expect Rashaan Gaulden or Ross Cockrell to play an increased role in Carolina's defense.

Reid (ankle) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is Reid's normal practice regimen as he nurses an ankle injury. Last week, Reid didn't practice Wednesday but wasn't held back at game time with 10 tackles, two pass breakups and a fumble recovery during this past Sunday's win over the Jaguars. There's a chance Reid suffered a setback, but he should be fine for this Sunday's game versus the Buccaneers if he can return to the field in a limited capacity.

Reid finished with 10 tackles (five solo), two passes defended and one fumble recovery in Sunday's 34-27 win over the Jaguars.
EDGE Analysis
Reid was listed as questionable prior to Sunday's kickoff, but his ankle issue didn't prevent him from turning in a stellar performance. In fact, Reid played all 84 defensive snaps, with only Luke Kuechly logging more tackles than him. Through five games, he now boasts 31 stops, three passes defended, two fumble recoveries and one sack.

Reid (ankle) is active Week 5 against Jacksonville, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Reid turned his ankle last week against Houston, and even though he only saw the practice field on a limited basis this week, he fully expected to suit up. With 21 tackles and a sack through the first four games, Reid has been a reliable IDP option and that is unlikely to change in Week 5.

Reid (ankle) is expected to play in Sunday's matchup with Jacksonville, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Reid twisted his ankle last week against Houston and was held out of practice early in the week before logging a limited session Friday. At this point it appears he's likely to play and see his typical role for the team, but if he's ultimately held out or limited, look for Rashaan Gaulden or Ross Cockrell to pick up a few extra snaps.

Reid (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game versus the Jaguars, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 27-year-old safety has downplayed this injury as just a twisted ankle, but he missed Wednesday and Thursday's practices before getting a limited session in Friday. Still, coach Ron Rivera believed Reid will be able to play Sunday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports. Reid has played nearly every snap for the Panthers' defense this season, so his absence would be a major loss.

Reid (ankle) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice, Max Henson of the Panthers' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Reid wore a walking boot after this past Sunday's win over the Texans, but he downplayed the injury by saying it was simply a twisted ankle. His absence from practice isn't a good sign, although that may just be a precautionary measure. Reid has played nearly every snap this season, posting 21 tackles, a sack and a pass breakup through four games, but Ross Cockrell is expected to take first-team practice reps until Reid is back.

Reid was wearing a walking boot following Sunday's win over the Texans, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Reid said he twisted his ankle and it isn't a long-term injury. It sounds like the walking boot is simply a precautionary measure, but expect his practice status to be monitored during the upcoming week. He's been a solid safety this year with 21 tackles, a sack and a pass breakup through four games.

Reid's three-year, $21.7 million contract with the Panthers has $10 million in full guarantees, including a $7.5 million signing bonus, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
The sizable commitment should lock Reid in as a starter, though it isn't clear if he'll be playing free safety or strong safety. He spent a lot of time up near the box last season while working alongside 37-year-old Mike Adams, who now is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent. The alignment allowed Reid to pile up 5.5 tackles per game -- a significant uptick from his career average of 4.7. He may spend more time in deep coverage next season if Adams decides to retire or sign elsewhere.

Reid has signed a three-year contract to stay in Carolina, Max Henson of the team's official website reports.
EDGE Analysis
Reid signed a one-year deal with the Panthers on Sept. 28, immediately joining the starting lineup and ultimately finishing the season with 71 tackles (50 solo), five passes defensed and one interception in 13 games (all starts). Scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, the 27-year-old instead chose to re-sign in Carolina through 2021. He'll presumably enter the offseason program locked in as a starter, with the versatility to play either free safety or strong safety.
