Manuel completed 28-of-42 passes for 263 yards with a touchdown and an interception, and added 22 yards with a rushing touchdown on six carries in Sunday's loss to the Bengals.
EDGE Analysis
Manuel once again supplemented mediocre production through the air with strong rushing output. The Bills quarterback continues to be the most dependable fantasy option on the team, although running back LeSean McCoy also contributed with a solid effort in his return from a hamstring injury.

Manuel's teammate Tyrod Taylor (knee) is officially inactive for Sunday's game against the Bengals.
EDGE Analysis
Manuel gets his first start since Week 4 of last season while also getting his chance to show the football world he's improved from two rocky seasons as a pro. Taylor has far exceeded everyone's expectations through five games, so it'd take a major feat for Manuel to pull a coup d'etat on the starting position. That seems pretty unlikely given coach Rex Ryan's praise for Taylor's play so far.

Manuel will start at quarterback in place of the injured Tyrod Taylor (knee), according to multiple reports, Pro Football Talk reports.
EDGE Analysis
We'll be waiting for something official from the team, which could happen close to the 1:00pm ET kickoff. Manuel got a lot of reps with the first-team offense this week.

Manuel's teammate Tyrod Taylor (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bengals, ESPN's Mike Rodak reports. Said coach Rex Ryan, "He wants to go, but we'll see."
EDGE Analysis
It looks like at best Manuel will get just one start, as Taylor has healed quicker than originally thought, and he may even get none. It looks like the decision will be made Sunday morning for those desperate enough to be considering Manuel, though the Bills do kick off in the early wave of games.

Manuel picked up most of the first-team reps in practice for the second straight day Thursday while Tyrod Taylor (knee) remained limited.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Rex Ryan says Taylor is progressing better than planned and won't rule him out from starting this week. That said, Manuel stands at least a 50-50 shot of manning the helm for one week. Friday's practice should provide a bit more clarity to the situation.

Manuel's teammate Tyrod Taylor (knee) may miss multiple games due to a sprained MCL, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manuel had a strong preseason and is an impressive athlete, but his straight-line speed (4.65 40) doesn't translate to the kind of running ability that has made Tyrod Taylor a top-10 option at quarterback. Even if Taylor misses time and Manuel plays reasonably well, the latter won't necessarily be an option outside of two-quarterback leagues. The Bills draw a tough Week 6 matchup with the Bengals.

With the expected trade of Matt Cassel to the Cowboys, Manuel will assume the No. 2 role for the Bills.
EDGE Analysis
Truthfully, Manuel has enough experience and showed enough in the preseason to be a No. 2 guy, which is probably why the Bills dealt Cassel for what's expected to be a small haul. Tyrod Taylor has performed well through two games, so Manuel could conceivably spend the rest of the season on the bench anyway. But his value just went up.

Manuel is inactive for Sunday's game against the Colts, ESPN's Mike Rodak reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manuel's inactive status Sunday, confirms that Matt Cassel will serve as the Bills No. 2 QB behind Tyrod Taylor this weekend.

Manuel is listed as the third quarterback on the Bills' latest depth chart, Joe Buscaglia of WKBW in Buffalo reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Bills released Matt Cassel over the weekend, leaving Manuel as the unquestioned No. 2 behind Tyrod Taylor, but the team re-signed Cassel on Tuesday, and coach Rex Ryan clarified that Cassel will serve as Taylor's primary backup. Manuel, who opened the 2014 season as the starter, now faces an uphill battle to see the field in 2015. However, considering both Taylor and Cassel are relatively unproven, it wouldn't be a complete shock if Manuel ends up working his way into the mix at some point later in the year.

With the release of Matt Cassel, Manuel will now start the season as the Bills' No. 2 quarterback.
EDGE Analysis
Manuel's career with the Bills was thought to be in jeopardy, but he won over Rex Ryan enough with some strong preseason play, enough that the Bills feel comfortable entering the 2015 season with two unproven quarterbacks. Tyrod Taylor is no sure thing, so Manuel is worth nabbing in very deep QB leagues.
