Coach Pete Carroll relayed Dickson may require knee surgery in the near future, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. "It's one that's going to take us probably four or five weeks, maybe six weeks at the most [if surgery is needed]," Carroll said. "It's very minor, but we've got to figure out exactly how to get this done and the timing of it and all."
EDGE Analysis
Dickson has been unable to shake the injury bug since landing in Seattle last year as a free agent. He kicked off the 2018 season on the non-football injury list as a result of a quad issue, and upon his return he put up 12 catches (on 13 targets) for 143 yards and three touchdowns in 10 contests. On this occasion, another injury may impact his availability at the beginning of the campaign. If he undergoes surgery, Dickson will almost certainly miss regular-season games, yielding TE reps to Will Dissly (knee) and Nick Vannett, among others.

Dickson will be held out of practice for the next few days due to a bothersome knee and is expected to undergo an MRI, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear as to when Dickson's knee issue popped up, but the Seahawks will hold him out for at least the next few days as a precaution. He's also set to undergo further testing to uncover the extent of the injury.

Dickson is fighting for a roster spot ahead of the 2019 season, John Clayton of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Seahawks seemingly have four tight ends competing for three roster spots. While Will Dissly might be the only real lock to make the final roster given the promise he showed as a rookie, Nick Vannett commanded the highest share of snaps in 2018 and is valuable for what he can do as a blocker. That seemingly leaves Dickson to compete with Jacob Hollister for what is likely one roster spot. Given Hollister's speed and upside as a receiver, the youngster may have a leg up on Dickson. After all, the need for another blocking tight end is less pronounced on a Seahawks team that has a tackle in George Fant who's capable of filling in at that spot.

Dickson caught four of five targets for 42 yards in Saturday's playoff loss to the Cowboys.
EDGE Analysis
After mustering five straight 16-game seasons, Dickson was forced to sit for the first six weeks this year with a quadriceps injury. He managed 12 receptions for 143 yards and three scores over the final 10 games, marking his highest touchdown total since the 2011 season. Dickson clearly wasn't Jimmy Graham's true replacement, but he still warranted five red-zone targets. He'll look to enter his 10th NFL season healthy in order to properly battle Nick Vannett and Will Dissly for the No. 1 tight-end role.

Dickson didn't receive a target but rushed once for nine yards in Sunday's win over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Dickson logged a carry on the Seahawks' first offensive drive but only had run-blocking contributions after that. After missing the first six games of the regular season, Dickson has made little effect on the offense with just 12 catches in 10 games, although he hauled in three scores in that span. Dickson will work as the second tight end for Saturday's opening playoff game versus the Cowboys.

Dickson didn't receive a target in Sunday's win over the 49ers.
EDGE Analysis
Dickson didn't seen more than two targets in his first five games back from a quadriceps injury, so this slip in the stat line isn't surprising. He'll square up against a tough Vikings defense, which has allowed just three touchdowns to tight ends, in Week 14.

Dickson hauled in both targets for 13 yards in Sunday's win over the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
Dickson was held under 15 receiving yards for the second straight game, this time by the team he spent the previous four seasons with. The veteran tight end has just seven targets in five games since returning from a quadriceps injury, so his fantasy value is minimal.

Dickson caught his only target for 24 yards in Sunday's 36-31 loss to the Rams.
EDGE Analysis
Since returning from the NFI list in Week 8, Dickson has been targeted just four times in three games, but two of those came in the red zone. He's not a dependable fantasy option at this time.

Dickson caught two passes on two targets for 54 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 28-14 win over the Lions.
EDGE Analysis
It was a nice debut for Dickson, who missed the previous six games while on the reserve/non-football injury list. He made an excellent 12-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter and snagged a 42-yarder in the third frame. Starting tight end Nick Vannett was targeted more (three), but Dickson could take over the top spot with a few more solid outings.

Dickson (quadriceps) will play Sunday versus the Lions, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dickson has played second fiddle in Carolina that last four years, and he signed with the Seahawks in the offseason in hopes of making a heightened impact. With rookie tight end Will Dissly (kneecap) out for the season, Dickson will split time with Nick Vannett. The volume isn't guaranteed for Dickson, so he's likely a touchdown-dependant fantasy option. In his eight-year career, Dickson has just one season with more than two touchdowns.
