Upon his return, Bowe will act as the clear-cut No. 1 threat in the passing game. However, in the first year of coach Andy Reid's system last season, Bowe totaled 57 catches (on 103 targets) for 673 yards and five touchdowns.

In fact, the biggest qualm Bowe has is probably the one-game suspension he'll have to serve to begin this season.

It remains to be seen if Bowe's finger issue persists, but at this stage it appears to be something that the Chiefs' top wideout should be able to continue to play through.

On the plus side, Chiefs wide receivers coach David Culley indicated that Bowe is in much better shape than he was at this stage last summer and given the team's other options at hand in the passing game, Alex Smith and the Chiefs have little choice but to hope that Bowe parlays his fitness into improved on-field results.
