Bowe was reinstated Tuesday after serving his one-game suspension in Week 1, Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports. The ban resulted from a violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy. Upon his return, Bowe will act as the clear-cut No. 1 threat in the passing game. However, in the first year of coach Andy Reid's system last season, Bowe totaled 57 catches (on 103 targets) for 673 yards and five touchdowns.

Coach Andy Reid relayed that Bowe, who was suspended for one game by the NFL for violating the league's substance abuse policy, is slated to be back in team's wideout mix Sunday, when the Chiefs play the Broncos, the Kansas City Star reports. Once Bowe is officially reinstated in advance of Week 2, the Chiefs won't have any trouble finding a spot on their 53-man roster for him, with linebacker Derrick Johnson and defensive end Mike DeVito both out for the season.

Bowe (quad) is among the Chiefs' scratches for Thursday's preseason finale. As is fellow wideout Junior Hemingway, a scenario that will allow the Chiefs to evaluate some of their other options at the position in advance of roster cut-downs. Bowe, in any case, is slated to miss the team's regular season opener against Tennessee due to a one-game suspension.

Bowe (quadriceps) did not play in Saturday's preseason game against the Vikings, kansas.com reports. We'll consider Bowe day-to-day for now, but in any case, he is slated to miss the Chiefs' regular season opener against Tennessee due to a one-game suspension. Frankie Hammond, who has been seeing added key reps in practice in Bowe's absence, could thus be in line for an expanded role in Week 1.

Bowe (quadriceps), who did not practice Wednesday, is "making progress," according to coach Andy Reid, the Kansas City Star reports. With Bowe (who is suspended for Week 1's contest) and Junior Hemingway both currently banged up, Frankie Hammond is seeing added practice reps.

Bowe (finger) will not practice Tuesday due to a sore quadriceps, ESPN.com reports. Bowe played through a finger ailment to catch five passes for 62 yards in Sunday's preseason game versus the Panthers, but in doing so, the wideout apparently added a groin issue to his current medical woes. That being said, there's nothing to suggest Bowe's sore groin is cause for concern and his finger ailment obviously didn't impact his effectiveness much. In fact, the biggest qualm Bowe has is probably the one-game suspension he'll have to serve to begin this season.

Bowe (finger) caught five passes (on six targets) for 62 yards in Sunday's preseason game against the Panthers. Bowe will miss the Chiefs' regular season opener against the Titans due to a suspension, but his effort Sunday was encouraging in that he didn't appear hampered by the finger issue that had resulted in his share of training camp drops. Upon his return to action in Week 2 against the Broncos, Bowe will be in line to reclaim his starting wideout slot, a position that Junior Hemingway could man in Week 1, assuming the hip injury Hemingway suffered Sunday doesn't linger.

Bowe (finger) has been suspended for one game and will miss the Chiefs' season opener against the Titans, ESPN.com reports. The report notes that the suspension stems from a Nov. 10, 2013 incident in which the wideout was pulled over in Riverside, Mo., for speeding and possession of marijuana. Bowe, who has been hampered in training camp by a finger issue, will thus be eligible to return to action in Week 2 against the Broncos, at which time, he should resume his starting wideout duties for the Chiefs. In the team's opener, NFL.com suggests that Junior Hemingway is a candidate to start opposite Donnie Avery in Bowe's place.

Bowe has been dealing with a finger injury in training camp, ESPN.com reports. "His finger is shot," coach Andy Reid indicated Thursday. "It's been thrown out of place about 15 times and he's not catching the ball. But he's getting his work done. You can practice with that type of thing." Despite being nicked up, Bowe hasn't missed any practice time and he's not among the Chiefs expected to miss Sunday night's preseason game against the Panthers. The ailment does, however, help explain why the wideout has had some issues with drops in training camp thus far. It remains to be seen if Bowe's finger issue persists, but at this stage it appears to be something that the Chiefs' top wideout should be able to continue to play through.

Bowe, who dropped a pair of passes and deflected another for an interception during Wednesday's practice, hasn't had a great training camp thus far, according to ESPN.com. Bowe, who turns 30 in September, in no danger of losing his starting wideout role, but coming off a 2013 campaign in which he caught just 57 passes for 673 yards and five touchdowns in 15 games, it's clear that the Chiefs are looking for more from Bowe, who is slated to start opposite Donnie Avery this season. On the plus side, Chiefs wide receivers coach David Culley indicated that Bowe is in much better shape than he was at this stage last summer and given the team's other options at hand in the passing game, Alex Smith and the Chiefs have little choice but to hope that Bowe parlays his fitness into improved on-field results.
