Allen (knee) wasn't present for the media-access portion of Tuesday's practice, Zack Cox of NESN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Patriots appear to be in generally good health coming out of their bye week, as Allen was the only member of the 53-man roster who wasn't seen at practice. It hardly comes as a surprise, given that it was reported shortly after the Patriots' Week 10 loss to the Titans that Allen would likely miss a few games after sustaining a knee injury in that contest. Fortunately, Allen's expected absence for at least Sunday's game in New York against the Jets should be cushioned by the probable return of top tight end Rob Gronkowski (back/ankle), who missed the Patriots' final two games before the bye.

Allen (knee) was not spotted at practice Wednesday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen is expected to miss some time, so this is no surprise. In his anticipated absence, Jacob Hollister figures to see added snaps, ideally in a backup role. Given that top tight end Rob Gronkowski (back/ankle) has missed the Patriots' last two games, it's possible that the team (currently in its bye week) will add some depth at the position in advance of Week 12.

Allen (knee) is expected to miss a few games, Michael Giardi of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
While he isn't expected to require surgery, Allen probably won't be ready to play when the Patriots return from a Week 11 bye. His absence is a bigger loss for Sony Michel than it is for Tom Brady, as the 28-year-old tight end has seen just four targets on 299 offensive snaps this season. The Patriots don't have a clear replacement for Allen's blocking role, though top tight end Rob Gronkowski has always been effective in that regard.

Allen was forced out of Sunday's game against the Titans with a knee injury.
EDGE Analysis
With Rob Gronkowski (back/ankle) inactive Sunday, Jacob Hollister is currently the team's only healthy tight end. Prior to his exit from Sunday's game, Allen had caught one pass for 10 yards.

Allen is expected to start at tight end with Rob Gronkowski (back/ankle) likely to miss another week, Kevin Duffy of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's worth reiterating that the team has not officially announced Gronkowski will miss the Week 10 contest against the Titans, but with a bye week following Sunday's game, it makes sense for the Patriots to take a cautious approach with their star tight end. With Jacob Hollister (hamstring) also listed as questionable for Sunday's contest, Allen could once again be in line to receive the majority of the snaps. That hasn't proved fruitful for fantasy owners in past weeks, however, as Allen has recorded just one catch in the previous three games despite playing in 86 and 93 percent of the snaps against the Bears and Packers, respectively.

Allen was on the field for 66 of a possible 71 snaps on offense in Sunday night's 31-17 win over the Packers.
EDGE Analysis
Both Rob Gronkowski (back/ankle) and Jacob Hollister (hamstring) were inactive Sunday, leaving Allen as the only tight end the Patriots had available in Week 9. He was targeted once in the game, leading to a 21-yard gain, but as usual, Allen's greatest impact was as a blocker. That's not likely to change anytime soon, regardless of his snap count.

Allen logged 55 of a possible 64 snaps on offense in Sunday's 38-31 win over the Bears.
EDGE Analysis
With both Rob Gronkowski (back/ankle) and Jacob Hollister (hamstring) out, Allen was the only tight end the Patriots had available Sunday. Despite the heavy snap count, Allen was not targeted in the game. He did, however, make an impact as a blocker, notably on James White's second TD of the day. Allen is clearly off the fantasy radar these days, even when Gronkowski is sidelined.

Allen is expected to start at tight end and handle most of the snaps at the position Sunday against the Bears with both Rob Gronkowski (back/ankle) and Jacob Hollister (hamstring) ruled out for the contest, Austin Knoblauch of NFL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Patriots didn't make any roster moves in advance of the game to compensate for the absences of Gronkowski and Hollister, so Allen will be the team's only healthy tight end in Week 7. Gronkowski has been averaging 5.8 targets per game this season, but it seems rather unlikely that Allen will see that kind of involvement in the passing game, as the Patriots have preferred to use him largely as a blocker during his time with the club. During the two games Gronkowski missed in 2017, Allen logged a combined 106 offensive snaps, but made only two receptions for 10 yards.

Allen was on the field for 11 of a possible 78 snaps on offense in Sunday's 43-40 win over the Chiefs.
EDGE Analysis
Allen, who was not targeted for the second straight game, is well off the fantasy radar, with just one catch for minus-four yards through five games to date. That won't change as long as Rob Gronkowski remains healthy enough to play.

Allen was on the field for 12 of the Patriots' 69 snaps on offense in Thursday's 38-24 win over the Colts.
EDGE Analysis
Allen was not targeted in the game and the solid blocker remains a fantasy afterthought as long as top tight end Rob Gronkowski finds his way into the Patriots' lineup.
