His offensive role remains peripheral, as the 30-year-old back has just five combined carries over his past five outings. If Devonta Freeman (ankle) were to be unavailable next Monday night against Tampa Bay, Lewis would be in line for his most significant workload since garnering 14 touches during a Week 2 loss to Chicago.

Moving forward, if Barkley is indeed out for the season, Lewis will be the de facto RB1, although the team may check out the free-agent market as well.

The Giants could get absolutely nothing going on the ground, as the Steelers' front five contained the G-Men to a putrid 29 team rushing yards on 20 attempts. Lewis ended up with six offensive snaps in total Week 1, but he will now shift his focus to an upcoming Sunday afternoon matchup against the Bears.

Should anything happen to Barkley, Wayne Gallman would also likely see work, factoring in mainly on running downs. As a result, there's limited fantasy upside for Lewis, even compared to most other backup running backs around the NFL.
