Art Stapleton of the Bergen Record is "hearing" David Wilson's neck injury could cost him "multiple games." Stapleton acknowledges "multiple games" could mean just Thursday night and Week 7, and he has "not heard" Wilson is in danger of missing the season's remainder. Stapleton says Wilson's presence at practice this week, even though he wasn't participating, "led me to believe he'd be back soon." The Giants will know more when Wilson's second opinion is given by Dr. Robert Watkins next Monday. Fantasy owners need to keep Wilson stashed as an injured RB4/5. There's an awful lot of season left.

Sources tell the Daily News that David Wilson (neck) won't receive his second opinion until next week. Wilson is in a holding pattern until he gets further testing. He's just watching practice from the sideline and will not play in Thursday's game against the Bears. There's no word on why he has to wait another week to get another opinion, but it leaves owners with no choice but to just stash the disappointing second-year man on benches. Coach Tom Coughlin is calling Wilson "week to week," suggesting he's very questionable for Week 7.

David Wilson (neck) has been ruled out for Thursday night's game against the Bears. Giants coach Tom Coughlin decided to admit the obvious Tuesday instead of dragging Wilson's status out for another 48 hours. It leaves the Giants with a Week 6 backfield of Da'Rel Scott and Brandon Jacobs, which should be one of the least effective running back duos we see all season. With the Giants again in danger of getting blown out in Chicago, neither player figures to see more than 10-12 touches. You can do better for a FLEX option in a week where only two teams are on bye. Wilson should be considered week to week, and questionable - at best - for Week 7.

David Wilson (neck) was present for practice Tuesday, but was not participating. Wilson was just a bystander, but it's a reasonably good sign he's not meeting with docs or getting treatment. It suggests he's just waiting for the opinions on his injury to roll in. Regardless, Wilson is almost certainly out for Thursday's game against the Bears. Owners should just be hoping it doesn't turn into a multi-week injury.

David Wilson (neck) was held out of Giants practice Monday. It's a bit surprising the Giants haven't signed a new tailback yet, though they figure to on Tuesday. Wilson is a long shot to play in Thursday's game against the Bears. Backup Brandon Jacobs has been miserable in his place.

David Wilson (neck) is dealing with "some kind of a tingling," and is uncertain for Thursday's game against the Bears. Any kind of a "tingling" is no small matter, so Wilson should be considered no better than 50-50 for Week 6 for the time being. With just Brandon Jacobs and practice-squad type Michael Cox behind Wilson on the depth chart, the Giants will have to make a move at running back if Wilson can't go. Re-signing Da'Rel Scott is a possibility.

David Wilson (neck) confirmed on Twitter that he exited Sunday's game in the first half as a precaution. He appears to be day to day; FOX Sports also reported earlier Wilson did not reenter for precautionary reasons. Wilson insists he "passed all the tests," and at one point appeared poised to go back in before the Giants shut him down on the sideline. "Be back next week," Wilson tweeted. We'll see. The Giants will be playing the Bears on a short week on Thursday Night Football.

David Wilson left Sunday's game against the Eagles in the second quarter with a neck injury. Wilson hurt himself on an ugly play in which he got knocked backward into his own end zone. He quickly went into the locker room. It's especially disappointing because Wilson took a goal-line draw for a 5-yard touchdown -- his first score of the season -- on the Giants' opening drive. Washed up Brandon Jacobs is on as the feature back. Wilson is officially "questionable" to return.
