A league source tells the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel that the Packers have "definite interest" in free agent DE Dave Tollefson. Tollefson, who goes 6-foot-4, 255, would presumably play outside linebacker in Green Bay's 3-4 scheme. He's been a defensive end with the Giants. Tollefson is turning 30 in July. He was the Packers' seventh-round draft pick in 2006.

Free agent DE Dave Tollefson is fully expected to hit the open market on Tuesday. SI.com's Peter King recently ranked Tollefson as the 41st best player available in free agency. NFL teams shouldn't value him nearly that high, but he's likely to receive more money than the G-Men are willing to pay. Tollefson, who turns 30 before the season, finished the 2011 campaign with five sacks.

Impending free agent DE Dave Tollefson believes he broke his hand in the Giants' Super Bowl win. Tollefson also dislocated his pinky finger. The injuries shouldn't prevent him from participating in OTAs. Playing under a one-year deal in 2011, Tollefson tallied 21 tackles and five sacks in a part-time role. Brutal against the run, he won't garner interest as anything other than a pass-rushing specialist on the open market.

Giants agreed to terms with DE Dave Tollefson. The 29-year-old Tollefson played sparingly on defense last year, though he still managed two forced fumbles and a half sack. He chipped in eight special teams tackles. Tollefson should have a good shot at the Giants' No. 4 end role.
