Ogunbowale brought in all three of his targets for 23 yards in the Buccaneers' 32-31 loss to the Giants on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The pass-catching back filled his usual role, working only as an outlet option and failing to log a carry for the third time in as many games to open the campaign. Ogunbowale ultimately played 19 snaps from scrimmage (along with 23 on special teams), a slight bump from his Week 2 workload of 16 but still notably behind the season-high 27 offensive plays he participated in during Week 1 against the 49ers.

Ogunbowale brought in his sole target for nine yards in the Buccaneers' 20-14 win over the Panthers on Thursday. He did not log a carry.
EDGE Analysis
Ogunbowale did not figure into the backfield equation as a runner for the second time in as many games to open the campaign, although he did log 16 snaps from scrimmage overall. The third-down back's role figures to remain similarly modest as long as the top duo of Peyton Barber and Ronald Jones enjoys good health.

Ogunbowale brought in four of five targets for 33 yards in the Buccaneers' 31-17 loss to the 49ers on Sunday. He did not log a carry.
EDGE Analysis
Ogunbowale was in on 27 plays from scrimmage overall and another 15 on special teams. Three of the third-year running back's four catches came in the hurry-up offense on the Buccaneers' final possession, as Ogunbowale essentially filled the exact role he was projected for behind Ronald Jones and Peyton Barber coming into the season. While he'll figure in for an occasional carry as well in coming games, his overall involvement in the offense figures to be modest as long as his aforementioned pair of teammates are healthy.

Ogunbowale is one of only three running backs currently on the Buccaneers' roster following the release of Andre Ellington on Saturday, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ogunbowale made his presence felt throughout training camp and preseason, and he evidently showed enough as a pass catcher in particular to convince coach Bruce Arians to part with a known entity in Ellington. As one of only three running backs on the roster alongside Peyton Barber and Ronald Jones, Ogunbowale is one injury away from an expanded role, and he figures to see a fairly solid complementary role even when the top duo is at full health. Ogunbowale also has some experience as a kickoff returner, although Bobo Wilson is projected to open the season in that role.

Ogunbowale rushed eight times for nine yards and brought in both of his targets for 17 yards in the Buccaneers' 17-15 preseason win over the Cowboys on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Ogunbowale didn't exactly give the best accounting of himself on the ground, finding running room to be at a premium. However, his pair of grabs in the passing game lend further credence to a report earlier in the week that Ogunbowale could serve as the primary third-down back come the regular season. His primary competition for that role, Andre Ellington, did contribute 43 total yards Thursday, however, so upcoming roster cuts figure to be particularly intriguing when it comes to the two backs' job battle.

Ogunbowale is making a case to serve as Tampa Bay's third-down back, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Seemingly ahead of Andre Ellington for the third spot on the depth chart, Ogunbowale is making a decent case for a Week 1 role. The Buccaneers notably used him in the no-huddle offense during their third preseason game, giving the 25-year-old a full drive next to Jameis Winston in the backfield. Peyton Barber and Ronald Jones still are expected to take most of the carries, but Ogunbowale could get a shot at more work throughout the season.

Ogunbowale rushed seven times for 22 yards and brought in two of four targets for 19 yards in the Buccaneers' 13-12 preseason win over the Browns on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Ogunbowale paced the Buccaneers in carries and rushing yardage, just edging his primary competition for the third running back job, Andre Ellington, in both. The third-year back once again struggled with efficiency on the ground, but it's worth noting he had a pivotal role in the game-winning 16-play drive and also had a seven-yard gain during that series wiped out by a holding penalty. Tellingly, coach Bruce Arians entrusted him with three straight carries from just outside the Browns' 10-yard line as the clock wound down, with Ogunbowale gaining eight yards on those touches. The solid preseason play of both Ogunbowale and Ellington, as well as the latter's prior experience in Arians' offense, could ultimately lead to both backs sticking on the final 53.

Ogunbowale rushed 13 times for 34 yards and brought in all three of his targets for 54 yards in the Buccaneers' 16-14 preseason win over the Dolphins on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
A couple of developments in Ogunbowale's favor unfolded Friday. One was that one of his primary competitors for the third running back spot, Andre Ellington, struggled with just 15 rushing yards on six carries and also lost a fumble. Ogunbowale's 2.6 yards per tote was just marginally better, but he held onto the ball and also ripped off a game-long 41-yard gain on one of his three catches. Furthermore, Ogunbowale had an even bigger gain wiped out by penalty, as he'd rumbled 45 yards on a Ryan Griffin screen pass on the first drive of the second half on a play in which rookie guard Zack Bailey was flagged for holding. The second-year back also had two touchdowns in last week's exhibition opener, and Greg Auman of The Athletic reports that following Friday's game, Arians also labeled Ogunbowale the "second-best pass protector" among the running backs.

Ogunbowale rushed 10 times for 34 yards and two touchdowns in the Buccaneers' 30-28 preseason loss to the Steelers on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The second-year back figures to battle veteran Andre Ellington throughout the preseason for a No. 3 running back role, and Ogunbowale certainly got that bid off to a strong start. The Wisconsin product found the end zone on two occasions, going in from 10 yards in the third quarter and then powering in from one yard away with just 10 seconds remaining in the game to cap off a 13-play, 64-yard march. Ogunbowale is younger than Ellington, and like the veteran, can also return kicks. Therefore, he would appear to have a solid shot of sticking on the final roster if he continues to provide a similar caliber of performance in upcoming exhibitions.

Ogunbowale has impressed head coach Bruce Arians with his vision and blitz recognition, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ogunbowale was active in Weeks 11 and 12 last season, playing 45 of his 48 total snaps on special teams. That led to 137 return yards for the Wisconsin product, but Ogunbowale is making a push for more offensive opportunity early in camp. He's looked good on inside runs, and the fact he's capable of contributing on kickoff coverage certainly helps his chances of sticking around. Ogunbowale is battling the likes of journeyman Andre Ellington and undrafted rookie Bruce Anderson for positioning in the latter portion of the running back depth chart.
