Jones completed 20 of 26 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns while rushing seven times for 54 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-22 loss to the Commanders. He also lost a fumble.
EDGE Analysis
Jones produced his first MetLife Stadium touchdown in 672 days with a two-yard touchdown pass to Chris Manhertz in the second quarter, but the much-maligned quarterback finished the first half with zero passing yards. He thought he had a three-yard touchdown pass to Wan'Dale Robinson in the third quarter, but it was called back due to a questionable offensive pass interference penalty. There was no doubt about Jones' two-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter, which was his first rushing score of the season and part of his second-highest rushing yardage total of the season, two shy of Jones' 56 rushing yards against the Bengals in Week 6. Jones tacked on a 35-yard touchdown pass to Theo Johnson later in the fourth, but the Giants' comeback attempt came up short, dropping New York to 2-7 heading into a Week 10 matchup against the Panthers in Munich, Germany.

Head coach Brian Daboll said Tuesday that Jones will remain the Giants' starting quarterback for Sunday's game against the Commanders, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
After turning the ball over just once while completing 67.6 percent of his passes for 7.0 yards per attempt from Weeks 2 through 6, Jones has regressed over the past three games, all of which were losses in which the Giants failed to score more than 20 points. Though Daboll remains committed to Jones as the team's starter for Week 9, the 27-year-old may be on a shorter leash coming off a poor showing in the Giants' 26-18 loss to the Steelers on Monday, when he took four sacks and completed 24 of 38 passes for 264 yards, no touchdowns and one interception while also losing a fumble. In addition to his recent stretch of substandard play, Jones' contract situation could also lead to his benching at some point down the road. He will be fully guaranteed $23 million for 2025 if he gets injured or is unable to pass a physical this offseason, so the Giants could have some motivation to hold him out if they decide Jones isn't their long-term solution at quarterback.

Jones completed 24 of 38 passes for 264 yards with no touchdowns and one interception and rushed three times for one yard in the Giants' 26-18 loss to the Steelers on Monday night. He also lost a fumble.
EDGE Analysis
Jones' final yardage total was more than adequate and was partly comprised of an impressive 43-yard strike to Darius Slayton in the first half. However, the embattled veteran signal-caller doomed the Giants' comeback attempts on two occasions during the latter portion of the fourth quarter, fumbling at the Steelers' 27-yard line on a sack by T.J. Watt and then overthrowing Devin Singletary at nearly the same spot on the field with 34 seconds remaining, resulting in a game-sealing interception for Pittsburgh. Jones now has gone three straight games without a touchdown pass while also throwing a pair of picks in that span, and a switch to Drew Lock could be afoot ahead of a Week 9 home matchup against the surging Commanders.

Jones completed 14 of 21 passes for 99 yards and gained 20 rushing yards on five carries in Sunday's 28-3 loss to the Eagles.
EDGE Analysis
With the game out of reach, Jones got benched in the fourth quarter and was replaced by Drew Lock. The move doesn't seem to be an indication that coach Brian Daboll is contemplating a more permanent switch however, as per Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com, Daboll said after the game he was just looking to "create a spark" with his team down by 25 points, and he made it clear that Jones was his starting QB. It's the third time in the last four games Jones has failed to produce a touchdown, but he'll get a chance to rebound in Week 8 against the Steelers.

Jones completed 22 of 41 pass attempts for 205 yards, no touchdowns and an interception while rushing 11 times for 56 yards in Sunday's 17-7 loss to the Bengals.
EDGE Analysis
Jones was stymied by a bottom-third defense at home in a rare game that featured no passing touchdowns for either side. This was the Giants' franchise quarterback's third game this season in which he has produced zero total touchdowns while throwing at least one interception. We are just six weeks into the fantasy season, so that rate of incompetence is not a great sign if you're relying on Jones as a starter in fantasy this year. Consider the 27-year-old a middling option for next Sunday's contest against Philadelphia.

Jones completed 23 of 34 passes for 257 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 29-20 win over the Seahawks. He added 11 rushing attempts for 38 yards.
EDGE Analysis
Jones overcame adversity on multiple fronts to get the Giants to 2-3, as New York was missing wide receiver Malik Nabers (concussion) and running back Devin Singletary (concussion), and the Giants fell into an early hole when Eric Gray's fumble just outside the goal line was returned 100 yards the other way for a Seattle touchdown. Jones helped the offense bounce back by leading the Giants right back down the field on a drive capped by a seven-yard touchdown pass to Wan'Dale Robinson in the second quarter, then added a 30-yard touchdown pass to Darius Slayton in the third. Up next for Jones is a primetime matchup against the Bengals on Sunday Night Football in Week 6.

Jones completed 29 of 40 passes for 281 yards with no touchdowns and one interception and rushed four times for three yards in the Giants' 20-15 loss to the Cowboys on Thursday night.
EDGE Analysis
Jones' passing yardage tally was a season high and certainly served his fantasy managers well, but it was a hollow number from a real-life sense to an extent. The embattled signal-caller focused very heavily on both rookie sensation Malik Nabers (concussion) and Wan'Dale Robinson, with 23 of his completions and 186 of his yards going to the talented duo. Nabers' absence late certainly didn't help Jones on the Giants' last-gasp drive, which culminated in an interception at the Cowboys' four-yard line following two incompletions to open the possession. Jones should have a chance of having Nabers back in the fold for a Week 5 road matchup against the Seahawks on Sunday, Oct. 6.

Jones completed 24 of 34 passes for 236 yards and two touchdowns while rushing twice for 20 yards in Sunday's 21-15 win over the Browns.
EDGE Analysis
Jones settled down after having a first-quarter interception wiped off the board by a roughing the passer penalty, tossing touchdown passes of three and five yards to Malik Nabers in the second quarter en route to 178 first-half passing yards. The Giants relied primarily on their defense and running game after halftime to clinch their first win of the season. Jones has bounced back after struggling in the season opener, leading three touchdown drives in each of the last two games to build some momentum heading into Thursday's home game against the NFC East rival Cowboys, who outscored the Giants, 89-17, across two meetings last season.

Jones completed 16 of 28 passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 21-18 loss to the Commanders. He added 32 rushing yards on five carries.
EDGE Analysis
It was a better performance than Jones managed in the Giants' opener, but the team still came up short. Some bad luck contributed to the loss, as Graham Gano (hamstring) was injured on the opening kickoff Sunday, and New York was unsuccessful on one extra point try and two two-point conversions -- both pass attempts from Jones to Darius Slayton -- the rest of the afternoon. The quarterback could be benched at any point in 2024 if the Giants decide they're going to move on from him next offseason and don't want the injury guarantee in his contract to lock a $23 million salary for 2025. For now though, Jones figures to be under center in Week 3 against the Browns.

Coach Brian Daboll said Monday that Jones remains the Giants' starting quarterback heading into a Week 2 matchup on the road against Washington, Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Daboll also said that New York won't be discussing any additions to the quarterback room or any changes to the distribution of practice reps, per Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News. Jones was dreadful in Sunday's season-opening loss to Minnesota in which he completed 22 of 42 passes for 186 yards, with zero touchdowns and two interceptions (one pick-six). The sixth-year QB will work to bounce back Week 2 in a favorable matchup against the Commanders, but if Jones is unable to spark the offense again his grip on the starting gig may not hold firm much longer.
