EDGE Analysis

Helm reverted to the 49ers' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
EDGE Analysis
The Duke product was contained to only special-teams usage over his first three NFL appearances Week 6, 9 and 10, but Sunday against the Cowboys he fielded 21 of 84 offensive snaps. Helm didn't attract any targets in the passing game, however, as Ross Dwelley paced the tied end position with two catches for 28 yards.

The 49ers elevated Helm to the active roster Saturday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Helm is listed as a COVID-19 replacement, and he could directly fill in for rookie tight end Charlie Woerner (undisclosed) during Sunday's game against the Cowboys. Helm has suited up for three games with the 49ers this season.

The 49ers signed Helm to their practice squad Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Helm was let loose by the 49ers last week after coming off the reserve/COVID-19 list, so he appears healthy in his return to the organization. The Duke product has suited up in three games with the 53-man roster in San Francisco this season, failing to record a fantasy-relevant stat over that span.

Helm was activated off the practice squad COVID-19 list and cut by the 49ers on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Helm had resided on the list since Nov. 20 so it's a positive sign that he was finally cleared from the NFL's COVID-19 protocols. Helm will now look for a an opportunity elsewhere around the league, as he saw action in three games on the 53-man roster for the 49ers this season thus far.

The 49ers placed Helm on the practice squad COVID-19 list Friday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Helm has either tested positive for the virus or come into close contact with an infected person. He'll be required to clear the league's COVID-19 protocols before returning to team activities. The 49ers are in the midst of a bye week, and Helm is a candidate to be promoted from the practice squad as long as he's healthy.

Helm reverted to the 49ers' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
EDGE Analysis
The Duke product made his third appearance of the season Sunday against New Orleans, fielding 10 special-teams snaps but going without a notable contribution on the stat sheet. Helm will remain on-call, as he may be needed again in the near future with George Kittle (foot) on injured reserve as of Nov. 5.

The 49ers elevated Helm to the active roster Saturday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Helm was brought up last week to serve as depth at tight end following news that George Kittle (foot) is expected to be done for the season. Helm is back with the active roster for Sunday's game versus the Saints, and he will line up as the No. 4 tight end.

The 49ers elevated Helm from their practice squad ahead of Thursday's game against the Packers, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Helm was one of three pass catchers promoted to the roster as designated replacements for Kendrick Bourne, Deebo Samuel (hamstring) and Brandon Aiyuk, all of whom were placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list a day earlier. Even with George Kittle (foot) on injured reserve, the 49ers still have Jordan Reed, Ross Dwelley and Charlie Woerner as available tight ends, so Helm won't be a lock to see the field Thursday.

The 49ers signed Helm to their practice squad Wednesday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Helm cleared waivers Wednesday after he was cut by the team a day earlier, and the team elected to keep him in-house. The 25-year-old made his NFL debut in last week's win over the Rams, so he'll add nice depth and familiarity to the tight end depth chart on the practice squad.
